Magdalene House Society was registered in 2009 and received charitable status in 2010. In 2015 we leased a home to provide help for women who want to recover from being trafficked. We discovered that without sustainable funding we were not able to continue and were forced to close the home and continue assisting women in a new way. Our recovery program based on Trauma Informed Care can offer the same service with fewer staff and less costs. We are referring clients to other agencies until we get enough funding
to offer our renewed program. We have a new Safe on the Streets program for young teens to learn to avoid the tricks of traffickers
Magdalene House Society collaborates with other agencies to:
· provide long-term care - offering physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual services for persons exploited through human trafficking;
· influence policy through dialogue with government;
· build awareness through education and advocacy towards the elimination of human trafficking. solutions that make a long-lasting difference.
